Cyclic and polymeric siloxanes, vit C ester.
Action
Dermatix Ultra is an advanced scar formula that is effective in the management of scars. It has the innovative cyclopentasiloxane (CPX) technology for improved effects in flattening and softening scars and contains vitamin C ester which gives the benefit of photoprotection and skin lightening.
Dermatix Ultra's high grade of skin conditioning agent heal scars without the greasy tacky feel upon application. It leaves a soft, silky and clean feel when applied to the skin.
Indications/Uses
To prevent and manage keloids and hypertrophic scars (eg, those resulting from surgical procedures, trauma wounds and burns), after the wound has healed and the skin surface is intact.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Dermatix Ultra works better on fresh scars (up to 3 months). Treatment of a scar should only start once the wound has closed and a scab has formed typically 10-14 days after the injury occurred. The following is a general estimation as to when to start treatment with Dermatix Ultra: Scar Resulting from Surgery eg, Caesarean Section, Thyroidectomy, Cardiac Surgery, Etc: After 10-14 days.
Facial Surgery: Eyelid Surgery, Etc: After 7 days.
Deep Cuts: After 7-10 days.
Minor Scratches: Right away/1 day.
Apply Dermatix Ultra twice daily (morning and evening).
Administration: Dermatix Ultra must only be applied on dry, intact skin. If patient has a scar from surgery, ensure that the wound has healed first before applying.
Clean the area with mild soap and water. Pat dry after cleaning.
Place a small pea size amount at the tip of the scar and gently spread thinly over the whole affected area. A small pea size is sufficient to cover a 6-inch scar.
Allow to dry for about 1-2 min. Once dry, Dermatix Ultra may be covered with cosmetics or sunscreen. If it is not yet dry in 2 min, it only means that the patient has applied too much. Applying too much does not increase its efficacy, so do not over use.
Keep away from eyes and mucous membranes.
Initial improvement may be observed after 12 weeks of continued use. For major or bigger scars, it may take ≥3-6 months to experience the full benefits of Dermatix Ultra.
Contraindications
Treatment of depressed scars eg, those resulting from acne or chickenpox; open or wet wounds; in contact with mucous membranes or applied too close to the eyes or over other skin treatment.
Special Precautions
Patient should not expose scar to extreme temperatures and intense sunlight.
Tight clothing should be avoided in case it irritates or injures the scar tissue.
Take good care during stretching exercises that might affect the sensitive skin of the scar.
Side Effects
Generally, Dermatix Ultra gel does not cause irritation, redness or pain.
Storage
Store at temperature below 25°C and protect from heat.
